Brazil Poco Fundo
|
The Poco Fundo co-operative was formed in 1991 among 71 small farms located in the state of Minas Gerais in southeastern Brazil. It became Fair Trade Certified in 1998 and now has 90 members.
The coffee grows between aprox. 900m to 1200 m (3000 - 4000 ft). It is a dry processed coffee that some believe yields a more interesting flavour than does the wet process.
The coffee is intense and interesting. It is predominantly deep and earthy or woodsy while showing definite sweetness that is accentuated as the cup cools. It has a nice bite that is balanced with the sweetness on the tongue. It shows nutty accents of hazelnut and almond. Enjoy the lingering aftertaste!
Available as roasted whole beans or green for roasting at home.
